The funny thing is, she thinks that was the first time I noticed her. Oh no. Long before that moment, from my quiet spot in the Aggrey Chapel (where I would later become Chapel Prefect), I’d been seeing this brilliant, beautiful Slessor House girl walk past the Chapel since Year 1. The nerd in me never quite found the courage to say hello. From Motown to the University of Ghana, Legon, life kept weaving us closer. We later took a leap of faith together, moving to the UK, where we shared a tiny room while pursuing the same course at the London School of Business & Finance. I am good with numbers – my Yvonne is better. To be understood is a rare gift. To be understood and loved is the greatest blessing of all. So my life with Yvonne, my high school sweetheart, my wife, and the mother of our two beautiful daughters who light up my world, feels endlessly full!
