*Speech at Parliament – on 05.02.2025* *By: Sri Lanka Muslim Congress Parliamentarian MS Naleem* *Sri Lanka Muslim Congress Member of Parliament MS Naleem* expressed his gratitude in Parliament on behalf of the entire people to the *Batticaloa Kirankulam Sri Sathyasai Sanjeevani Hospital*, which is working on a charitable basis for the health development of the Batticaloa district. In the past, heart patients in the Batticaloa district faced great difficulty in receiving their treatment. Every 2 weeks, 8 patients were taken to the Jaffna Hospital to receive their angiography treatment. This caused great difficulty and waiting time for the heart patients here. In order to rectify this, the cardiologists working at the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital, with the continuous efforts of Vinothan and Dr. Arulnithi, Dr. Rajeevan, and the consent of *Sadguru Sri Madhusudhan Sai* from India, *Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital* started its free cardiac medical treatment from June 2023 and till date, it has spent millions on cardiac patients regardless of caste and religion and provided free treatment and rehabilitation. This is an amazing work, the main role in which is played by *Mrs. Penny Jayewardene*, a member of the family of former President JR Jayawardena, who has a political background. On behalf of the people of Batticaloa, I would like to thank Sri Sadhguru for his dedication and the medical team led by cardiologist Dr. Vinothan, who is dedicating themselves behind this, the General Manager of the hospital Mr. DS David, former Medical Superintendent of Medicine, Professor Dr. Sundaresan, Dr. from India. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to *Dr. Ramesh Rao* and all the medical staff working here with dedication, and to the Cardiology Department of the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital, which is responsible for the treatment, and I would like to congratulate and pray for their continued improvement. In addition, their service of taking children to India for heart surgery completely free of charge and bearing the entire cost and performing major surgical procedures every month is unparalleled. Similarly, in addition to angiography and stent implantation, the fact that open heart surgery will also be started here in the coming days is a great comfort to patients who are seeking free treatment, for which I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude, he added.
