*Motherland, Eternal Religion* *Service to humanity is the highest religion* *Things to keep in mind before touching the Tulsi plant..!* Tulsi is considered one of the sacred plants among Hindus. It possesses many medicinal properties and is regarded with reverence. For Hindus, Tulsi is not merely a plant; it is believed to be divine. There is a profound tradition of worshiping Tulsi with great devotion. Every Hindu household typically has a Tulsi plant in front of it. Tulsi holds significant importance in Ayurveda. Tulsi, also referred to as 'Mother Tulsi,' requires careful nurturing, and there are several guidelines to follow in its care. Let’s take a look at some of these rules. *Do not touch after sunset* The period after sunset is considered particularly special in scripture. Therefore, certain activities should not be performed during this time. This rule also applies to Tulsi. Tulsi is sacred for everyone. It has numerous health benefits, but there are specific points to remember before touching the Tulsi plant. It is prohibited to touch Tulsi after sunset or to pour water on it. This tradition has been observed since ancient times. It is said that if you touch the Tulsi plant after sunset, Goddess Lakshmi becomes angry. *Cleanliness of hands* As previously mentioned, Tulsi is a very sacred plant. Therefore, it is essential to maintain cleanliness in handling Tulsi. Do not touch the Tulsi plant with unclean hands; this is deemed inappropriate. You should wash your hands thoroughly before touching Tulsi. It is recommended to worship Tulsi only after bathing, emphasizing the importance of purity in its worship. *Days for bringing Tulsi* Tulsi is a must-have plant in every Hindu home, and there are also auspicious days for bringing Tulsi home. If you plan to purchase a Tulsi plant, choose an appropriate day. Thursday is considered a good day for buying Tulsi. Thursdays are dedicated to worshipping Lord Vishnu, who holds Tulsi in special regard. Therefore, bringing Tulsi home on a Thursday is believed to be auspicious. *It is believed that Tulsi should not be offered to certain deities* Lord Vishnu considers Tulsi to be extremely dear, and it is essential for the worship of Krishna. Tulsi leaves are offered to Vishnu and deities related to him. However, it is not customary to use Tulsi leaves in worshiping certain other gods. In the worship of Lord Shiva and Ganapati, Tulsi is not offered. There is also a story related to this. Tulsi, enchanted by Ganapati, wishes to marry him, but Ganapati humbly declines. Angered by this, Tulsi curses Ganapati that he may marry a demon. Out of rage, Ganapati curses Tulsi to marry a demon instead. After realizing her mistake, Tulsi repents and seeks forgiveness from Ganapati. Ganapati's heart softens, and he blesses her with a significant position in the world. Therefore, while Tulsi is essential in the worship of Lakshmi and Vishnu, it is not used in the worship of Ganapati. *How to plant Tulsi* It is believed to be best to plant Tulsi in the northeastern direction to yield good results. It is also thought that doing so drives away negative energies. Additionally, it is said not to plant Tulsi in plastic pots; rather, it is preferable to plant it in a clay pot or in a well-constructed Tulsi garden. Furthermore, dry Tulsi plants should not be disposed of like regular plants; it is considered appropriate to immerse them in water. The area where Tulsi is planted should be clean and receive ample sunlight.
