- When one is on a prolonged fast, autophagy checks in. Pre-cancerous cells are cleaned up and recycled. If one has tumours (even cancer itself), yeasts, cysts, fibroids, mucus, etc your body eats them up and eliminates them. - There are many health benefits of autophagy than can be shared here in detail. There are also many ways of fasting depending, on one’s schedules or sense of self-discipline: - A daily fast can be intermittent, meaning you choose not to eat for 16hrs. For example, have dinner at 7pm today, then your next meal is at 11am or midday next day. That can be a brunch or late breakfast. Then you can have a healthy snack of fruit until 7pm, then have dinner, and the cycle is repeated daily. - Some fast for 24hrs at least once a week. - Yet others can fast for three days every, say, 3 or 6 months. These fasts help to tap into the power of autophagy every now and then. Autophagy is also key for generating growth hormones, youthful looks and energy. Autophagy even improves brain function and memory. PS: A paradox of life is that we eat so we don’t die. Yet the more frequently we eat, the weaker our bodies become, and the more vulnerable we are to disease. Autophagy kicks off anywhere between the 12th and 16th hour of fasting.
