Do not be concerned with outward beauty” is a message from the Bible in 1 Peter 3:3. The verse encourages people to focus on inner beauty instead of outward appearance.  Explanation The verse was written to warn women against spending too much time on their appearance, as was customary at the time. Instead, it encourages people to focus on developing a gentle and quiet spirit, which is more valuable to God.  Application The verse doesn't mean that it's wrong to wear nice clothes or jewelry, or to braid your hair. It encourages people to focus on developing inner beauty, which is more lasting than outward appearance.  Related concepts The pressure to conform to beauty standards can lead to negative body image, low self-esteem, eating disorders, and depression. It's important to remember that beauty is subjective and that everyone has their own unique qualities. by *google/ai* The scriptures on looks and beauty mostly focused on the women because the typical Hebrew man was not concerned with looks and appearance as we are today. But they nowadays apply to man just as much. Why do you care so much about how you look? Who are you trying to impress. And when you get their attention, how will you retain it considering the outward man daily diminishes in glory with age. Your true value is not on the outside, but what comes from within. The outside may get their attention, but what's inside is what will keep it. Spend time to develop your character, your internal communication, your inner strength so that you will not get blown here and to at every passing wind. A relationship will endure many a storm and your beauty of looks will not be the thing that weathers them. Yes, other 'better looking' people can take your partners attention away even when he or she commits to you, but that threat is only real if you came together solely based on looks. Alternatively, if you are single, if your looks depress you everytime you look in the mirror, then you are missing out on the best part of life which is actually living it. When you live full, such things can temporarily distract you but cannot stop you from fulfilling your destiny and attaining your glory in God whose opinion matters above all.
