Personally, I find this to be one of the most peculiar verses God ever spoke to us as Christians! Loving your enemies is hard! Doing good to those who hate you is hard! Blessing those who curse you is hard too! Praying for those who mistreat you is equally as hard! There is only one way we’re able to achieve this unique set of commands; THAT WAY IS THE HELP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Humanly, it makes no sense to do these things but we come to understand that once the Spirit of God dwells on our inside, • He teaches us all things; • ⁠How to behave; • ⁠How to love God & others around us; • ⁠How to allow God’s words work for us; • ⁠How to forgive; • ⁠In essence, how to be a proper Christian! So, if you find yourself struggling with these commands, • Ask for more of the Holy Spirit in your heart. • ⁠Submit to more of God’s control & • ⁠Allow God’s words work for you & in you! • ⁠Understand that GOD’S WORD IS HIS PERSONALITY & not stories The essence of Christianity is REFORMATION.
