Sowore explained that the Nigerian state and its rulers have no moral right to commemorate the day, given their failure to provide adequate care, protection, and opportunities for the country's youth. Sowore made this statement on Tuesday on the occasion of Children's Day celebration, lamenting that the Nigerian government has failed the nation's children across all fronts — from healthcare and education to social protection.
