In a decisive and peaceful election, Opio Geoffrey Ekong was declared the new NRM (National Resistance Movement) Chairperson for Dokolo District, securing a resounding victory with 398 votes. The election, characterized by camaraderie and last-minute strategic withdrawals, saw five candidates initially vying for the position before Hon. Sam Brunos Alinga, a prominent Voice of Lango journalist, stepped down to support Opio Ekong.

Hon. Sam Brunos Alinga, a well-known journalist with Voice of Lango, had initially gained significant momentum in the campaign.
