JOB INFORMATION Job Title : HRM – Employee Relations & HR Operations Location : Nairobi, Mombasa Road Reports to : General Manager Direct reports :HR Officer HR Assistants Site HR Representatives JOB PURPOSE The HR Manager – ER & HR Operations will provide strategic and operational leadership across employee relations, compliance, recruitment, performance management, and HR policy enforcement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead Employee Relations (ER) strategies and oversee resolution of workplace conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary actions. • Manage and offer leadership to the junior teams and the support teams directly reporting to this position. • Oversee operational excellence in all the branches in the regions • Ensure full compliance with Kenyan labour laws and company policy in all HR operations. • Manage HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, contract management, payroll input, and leave administration. • Serve as lead advisor for disciplinary and appeal hearings, ensuring procedural fairness and legal compliance. • Standardize HR procedures across all deployment sites and provide site HR support where required. • Collaborate with Area managers to ensure staffing and HR support meet client and operational needs. • Maintain an accurate HRIS and generate periodic HR reports. • Provide training on HR policies, disciplinary procedures, and employment law for managers and supervisors. • Promote employee wellness, staff engagement, and grievance redressal mechanisms. • 3.2 Key Performance Indicators • 100% compliance with disciplinary timelines and documentation under Kenyan labour law. • Zero cases of unfair dismissal or tribunal loss due to procedural errors. • 95% HR documentation completeness across sites (contracts, leave, disciplinary records). • Timely resolution of at least 90% of grievances within 14 working days. • Recruitment SLAs met: 90% of positions filled within 30 days. • Monthly HR reports submitted on time with accurate and complete data. • HR projects that are delivered within the required quality standards • At least one HR training/briefing conducted per quarter for operations managers and supervisors. JOB SPECIFICATION EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field Professional Qualification-Higher Diploma in HR or CHRP certification Certified Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 6–8 years’ progressive experience in HR, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role focused on ER.
