🔺CASE STUDY NO : 50 🔺 PART NO : 1 🔺DAHA ( BURNING SENSATION) 🔺 NIDANAM (Etiology / Causative Factors) -Main causative factors for Daha involve Pitta-vardhaka hetu -Katu, Amla, Lavaṇa Rasa sevana (excess spicy, sour, salty foods) -Madhya sevana (alcohol intake) -Atapa sevana (excessive sun exposure) -Ksara, Usna, Tīksna dravya sevana -Krodha, bhaya, mental stress -Vidahi ahara (Reference:-Astanga Hrdaya, Cikitsa Sthana 9/11 🔺 PURVAROOPAM (Prodromal Symptoms) -Urah shoola / daha (burning/pain in chest) -Trishna (excess thirst) -Amlodgara (acidic belching) -Mukhapāka (oral burning or ulcers) -Bhrama (dizziness) Reference:Astanga Hrdaya, Nidana Sthana 4/5 🔺 LAKSANAM (Symptoms) -Sarvanga daha – burning throughout the body -Hridaya daha, uro daha, koshta daha -Murcha, trishna, mutrakricchrata (burning urination) -Daha in twak, netra, jihva, kantha -Pitta laksana like yellow discoloration, sour belching, irritability(Reference:-Caraka Samhita, Cikitsa Sthana 3/134 -Astanga Hrdaya, Cikitsa Sthana 9/13-16) 🔺 GENERAL EXAMINATION *History -Location: Localized (e.g., skin, chest, stomach) or generalized? -Onset: Sudden or gradual? -Duration: Acute, chronic, intermittent? 📌Associated symptoms: -Tingling, numbness (neuropathic causes) -Heartburn (GERD) -Dysuria or urinary urgency (UTI) -Rashes or redness (dermatological causes) -Anxiety, fatigue (psychogenic causes) 📌Trigger factors: -Spicy food (gastric) -Heat/sun (skin) -Emotional stress (psychogenic) 📌Physical Examination -Skin: Rash, redness, dryness, infection? -Neurological: Reflexes, sensation (for peripheral neuropathy) -Abdomen: Epigastric tenderness (GERD or gastritis) -Urinary exam: Suprapubic tenderness (UTI) 🔺 LABORATORY EXAMINATION -CBC (Complete Blood Count) Detect infection or inflammation -Fasting Blood Sugar / HbA1c Rule out diabetes (peripheral neuropathy) -Serum B12 and Folate Vitamin deficiency causing burning neuropathy -Liver and Renal Function Tests Rule out metabolic causes -TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) Rule out hypothyroidism -Urinalysis Rule out UTI if burning during urination -ESR/CRP General markers of inflammation -Skin scraping or patch test If dermatological cause suspected -ECG or Cardiac enzymes (if chest burning) Rule out cardiac causes -Endoscopy (UGI) If GERD/gastritis suspected 🛑https://chat.whatsapp.com/KLufxKFrXwbIIAXLxXDqOB
