He achieved the feat racing through the streets of Garoua, completing the 80 km course in 1 hour, 54 minutes, and 27 seconds, and earning the prestigious Black Castel Jersey. Algerian rider Mansouri Islam and Ivorian cyclist Cisse Isiaka finished in second and third places respectively, both clocking the same time as Lucas in a tightly contested sprint to the finish. Meanwhile, Cameroon's Tientcheu Michel Boris, winner of the first lap (Maroua–Mora–Maroua), successfully retained the coveted Yellow Jersey, maintaining his position as the overall leader.
