Ingredients:
- 1 lb white fish fillets (like cod or haddock)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup sparkling water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- 4 large potatoes, cut into fries
Instructions:
1. Preheat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper; gradually stir in beer until smooth.
3. Dip fish fillets into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
4. Fry fish for 4-5 minutes until golden; remove and drain on paper towels.
5. For chips, fry potato slices in batches until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes; drain and season with salt.
6. Serve hot with tartar sauce and lemon wedges. Enjoy!
