Please read Judges 6:1 - 36. We are in the season leading to pentecost. Be tuned to the season. God operates in His season. He is not controlled by men. He can make you win a war, without you leaving your house. He is God, and he rules the universe. All those who do not believe in his existence, the day is coming when they shall be called to order. I pray that, I remain in Him, in order to avoid the second death that comes with weeping. Listen, the first death, your friends and relatives will be weeping because you are dead. But with time, the tears dry up. However, the second death, if your name is not found in the book of life, it will be your turn to weep. And that season of weeping will be unending. The story of how God called the Medians to order through Gideon is amazing. Gideon was from the tribe of Manasseh. He described the tribe as the weakest and his family as the least in the tribe. But God picked him. And when he was picked, he was not living in a palace, nor was he on a prayer tour. He was in a cave, working and hiding the fruits of his labour from the enemy's reach. OMG, this is deep, Lord help us understand your word. David picked this up and wrote that, Your word I have hidden in my heart, so that I do not sin against you (Psalm 119:11). The word of God is not only life to us, but food for our souls. The more the word is in you, God will pick you up. Gideon was picked ahead of his father, Joash. Remember, Samson was picked before his father, Manoah. Joseph was picked before his father, Jacob. David was picked before his father, Jesse. John the Baptist was picked, before His father, Zacharias. God has picked you, before those who claim to be better than you. He has his reason. Stop crying, “why me, this is too much”. It is like a footballer complaining why he is being picked to play every game. Gideon saw himself as weak, yet God found him to be a worker. Our focus today is on verse 34. God does not send you naked. Are you listening?? The drying of the fleece and it getting wet was not the issue. Fire coming out of the rock to consume the meat Gideon had prepared, was not the issue. The issue was Israel had lost its power because of the existence of idol worshipping. Why have you elevated men ahead of God. You now believe in your prophets ahead of God? Can't you see you are now weak. You are always reacting. OMG!! Eh, pastor, my stomach, next, pastor, my spouse. When are you going to pick up your faith and lay hands on your stomach and call upon your God to heal you? The land of Israel was infested with altars, but built to Baal and the poles of Asherah. The Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon, then he blew the trumpet 🎺. What is the meaning of this? A trumpet is not a silent musical instrument. It is meant to attract attention. Church, your silence when people are suffering under the burden of sin, is worrying. We are now competing with Universities and Colleges in lecturing on how to get rich. Competing with Liverpool Football Club in raising sportsmen and women. Yet, sin is growing to national crisis levels. Where is the church? Where are you Gideon? An altar represents worship. Before, gathering weapons, Gideon built the altar. Thank you Jesus, thank you Father, thank you Holy Spirit. Iwe, the fear in you can only be destroyed when the Spirit of God comes upon you. God cannot pick you and does not work with lazy people. Go back to work. Read the bible every day, kneel down to pray at every opportunity you create. Do something that can attract heaven.
