Ngugi wa Thiong'o was one of the greatest literary exports from the continent of Africa. His novels dwell on issues such colonial exploitation, colonial resistance, neocolonialism, cultural displacement, political tomfoolery, and decolonisation. His works have created a cult-following across Africa and beyond. He wrote in English Language before transitioning to writing in Gikuyu as his primary language of creativity with an experiment that started with Caitani Mũtharaba-Inĩ (Devil on the Cross) as part of his decolonisation advocacy. May his soul find rest.
