🗣 Aiden Haven on why he joined Manchester United:
"The opportunities that young players have had here in the past. I think United gave the most playing time to young players last season [2023/24]. That convinced me to join the team.
And the people and the fans here are very kind, and I felt it when I went out on the pitch. They are very supportive of the team."
about the first day in Carrington:
“The first day I arrived at Carrington, he [Mount] came up to me, introduced himself and we had a nice 10-minute chat. He reminded me that we had played against each other in pre-season and he remembered the tackle I made on him in the first minute. So yeah, me and Mason are good mates and of course Bruno, the captain, he helped [me settle in]. Patrick [Dorgu] too, we signed contracts about the same week and we’ve been together ever since.”
On his start at Manchester United:
"I am very pleased. I would say that my start was very fast. I played in a few games - more than I thought - and I think I did well and earned the trust of the coach. Hopefully I can continue in this vein."
on which athletes inspired him at a young age:
"I would say it was Kobe Bryant when I was a kid. I would watch his interviews, his games, and how he prepared for games."
"Also Messi and Neymar. I watched their videos when I was really little. I started out as a striker, I wasn't always a defender, and I wanted to be like them!"
on the praise from Wayne Rooney after his full debut for Manchester United:
"It was motivation... It's always nice to hear someone say things like that about you, I was very grateful."
on his injury in the match against Leicester:
"That was the most disappointing thing for me because I felt like I had been playing very well up until that point, but that's football, it happens."
