“What can a 9-year-old from rural Assam really do?”
Break records. Win hearts. Make history.
Meet Binita Chetry — the daughter of a poultry farmer from Talbalijan, a small village in Assam — who just became the first Indian finalist on Britain’s Got Talent and secured third place in the 2025 season!
She was voted in by the public, after wowing both the audience and judges with her fiery dance performances.
After her semi-final act, Simon Cowell himself said: “This is what I call a moment where a star is born.”
Binita’s journey began in a small village — but with her father's support and help from the local community, she trained in Guwahati and Jaipur. The Karbi Anglong Council even gave her ₹5 lakh for her finale preparations.
“I am very happy and proud of myself, and it’s the best experience,” said Binita,
who has inspired a nation.
