MADE IT THROUGH TODAY, SOBER; I’m thankful to the Lord that I’ve made it through another day sober. Sobriety is something I am learning not to take for granted. Many times I went out well dressed, with a phone but came back home without a phone and without shoes because I drank so much and blacked out. There are many nights I did not sleep in my bed. The parking at Kisementi became my resting place most Saturday nights. Many times I’d have excruciating headaches because of hangovers. I would drink more to deal with them. Drinking more never dealt with them but deferred them. Many times, I was worried how I would go through the day sober but here I am, alright. I don’t take it for granted that I leave the house well-dressed these days and come back in one piece. I don’t take it for granted that I can keep one phone for years.
