A small cave in Hanumanahalli village in Kolar district in Karnataka is home to the Kolar leaf-nosed bat. Fewer than 200 of these bats remain, and the species is on the verge of extinction. Rajesh Puttaswamaiah and his team at Bat Conservation India Trust are working towards the conservation of Kolar leaf-nosed bats and their fragile habitat.
