Quick Information on JDM's Teacher Decentralization Speech and what the president actually said.
Let me begin by extending gratitude to my big bro Kofi Asare for quickly updating me on what the president said and which wasn't sent to the public unfortunately since he was there.
According to Kofi, the president indicated that;
1. GES Region and HQ must validate teacher vacancies declared from districts and allocate quotas accordingly.
2. DEO, based on validate vacancies and quotas given, deploy teachers to schools.
3. DEO, are held accountable by Region for the distribution of teacher quotas, including their supervision and general accountability to learning.
4. GES Region sanctions district directors who deploy teachers to overstaffed urban or peri-urban schools, contrary to declared vacancies.
5. No teacher is permitted to leave the district without consent consent of DEO, who is also held accountable for same.
NB:
These points by the president are laudable and unfortunately, the media gave us short videos of what will pull traffic and the ministry couldn't also make us aware of the reality.
I think I solemnly agree with the president on this and will continue to advocate for this suggestions by the president. The media should please do us good by bringing us in depth information since we in the Academia are very much interested in such productive arguments.
I believe the GES should push this agenda through its new PR department quickly.
To the public, please this has been the summary of the president's full speech and not the short videos.
If you want any explanation, then let's get talking in the comments section ❤
Once again #johnmahamathepresident we thank and agree with you. @highlight Professor George K.T. Oduro Clement Apaak Haruna Institute
