Out of this, the central government will provide โ‚น147.63 crore as its share. This project aims to empower fishers, increase fish production, and create job opportunities in the state. The focus will be on modernizing fish farming methods, improving infrastructure, supporting fishers with better technology and training, and encouraging youth to take up fisheries as a career. Tripura has rich water resources and huge potential for inland fisheries and aquaculture. With this big investment, the state can reduce fish imports, become self-sufficient in fish production, and even increase exports in the future. The PMMSY scheme, launched by the Government of India, supports states in developing a sustainable and modern fisheries sector. Tripuraโ€™s new project is expected to improve livelihoods, boost the local economy, and contribute to Indiaโ€™s Blue Revolution.
