Union Fisheries Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh will visit Tripura today to lay the foundation stone for a new Integrated Aquapark in Kailashahar and to open a one-day Fish Festival in Agartala.
The Aquapark, worth โน42.4 crore, is funded under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). Minister of State George Kurian and Tripura Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das will also attend.

The goal is to give fish farmers one-stop support from production to selling, create jobsโespecially for youth and womenโand boost Tripuraโs fast-growing fish sector. Tripura already consumes over 29 kg of fish per person each year.

During the event, the ministry will:
Hand out Kisan Credit Cards to eligible fishers
Honour top co-operatives, FFPOs and start-ups
Give certificates to PMMSY beneficiaries
Over the last 10 years, Tripura has received โน319 crore for fisheries projects under PMMSY and the Blue Revolution scheme. The new Aquapark will further modernise infrastructure, improve fish quality and increase incomes for thousands of local stakeholders.
