🚨 Turmoil in the zionist government. Overnight, orthodox parties in the Knesset threatened to dissolve the Knesset, as speculated earlier this week. "United Torah Judaism," which represents the Ashekanzi Haredi bloc, pledged to vote for any opposition bill to dissolve the Knesset due to rejection of the Haredim conscription bills. Within hours, UTJ and aligned factions adopted the directive, with "Shas" following suit this morning. These parties also called for Netanyahu to fire the Chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Yuli Edelstein. Then, Yesh Atid and Yisraeli Beiteinu (opposition parties not in the governing coalition) filed the dissolution bills for June 12th. This would require 61 out of 120 members of the Knesset for it to succeed, but with UTJ and Shas now supporting dissolution, Netanyahu's majority has suddenly shrunk, and the Knesset is likely to be dissolved. The anti-government camp is now expected to have 74 of 120 seats. Senior rabbis are refusing to meet with Netanyahu unless Edelstein is fired and a draft bill is rammed through. A clear majority now favors dissolving the Knesset, however, as the zionist entity is on course for its sixth election in just nine years, as it continues to struggle in the middle of war. If the dissolution bill passes its four readings with a simple majority (61 out 120)—with the preliminary reading within a week—and all readings pass by July 27 (when the summer recess starts), elections would take place in late October 2025 by the earliest—a year before the scheduled October 2026 elections.
