*UAN Generation Through Face Authentication via Umang App* EPFO has launched a new facility for UAN allotment through Face Authentication using the UMANG App. This initiative aims to make the UAN generation process more seamless and error-free. In the existing method, UAN allotment is done through demographic authentication, which may lead to failures if the details provided by the employee do not exactly match with Aadhaar data. The new method addresses this issue by fetching member details directly from Aadhaar through Face Authentication, thereby improving accuracy and reducing failure rates. In the new process, UAN generation and activation will be completed in a single step, further simplifying the onboarding experience for new employees. You are requested to encourage newly joined employees to generate their UAN through the UMANG App using Face Authentication, and to assist them as needed during the onboarding process. Please note that this will become the main mode for UAN generation in the future. Early adoption is recommended to ensure a smooth and hassle-free transition.
