⛰️ *The Day Of 'Arafat* *What Is It?* It's the 9th day of the Islamic month of Dhū'l-Hijjah. On it pilgrims performing Hajj stop at 'Arafah and make du'aa. _The Prophet sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam said:_ As for you staying till the evening in Arafah, then Allaah descends to the sky of the Dunyā and He boasts about you to the angels, and says: ‘My slaves have come to Me, disheveled, from every deep valley, hoping for My mercy; _*so if your sins were equivalent to the amount of sand or the drops of rain or like the foam on the sea I would forgive them.*_ So depart My slaves! Having been forgiven yourselves as well as those for whom you have interceded. ¹ *What To Do ?* _It is recommended for those who are not performing Hajj to fast on this day._ It was reported from Abu Qataadah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah, sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, was asked about fasting on the Day of ‘Arafah. He said, _*“It expiates (for the sins of) the previous year and of the coming year "*_ ² *What To Say?* _The Prophet (ﷺ) said:_ “The best supplication is the supplication of the Day of Arafah. And the best of what I and the Prophets before me have said is: None has the right to be worshipped but Allaah, Alone, without any partner, to Him belongs the dominion, and to Him belongs all Praise, and He is All-Capable over everything. ‏ *لا إلهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَريكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ المُلْكُ وَلَهُ الحَمْدُ وَهُوَعَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِير* _(Lā ilāha illallāh, waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, wa huwa alā kulli shai’in qadīr)_ .’³ ---------------------------------------- _References_ > (1) Reported by at-Tabarani in his book “al-Kabeer” and by al-Bazaar.
