I DON'T WANT TO GROW UP
Whoever said we wanted to grow up?Growing up is
killing us.Refusing to grow up is choosing to live—and
experiencing every day with the playfulness and curiosity
of a child.
We are told from an early age that we must"grow up"
and“get serious”about life—as if seriousness is the
measure of wisdom, and joy is something to outgrow.
When we're young,the world is a mystery.Life is new.
Everything is exciting. We feel it all.But the older we get,
the more we are taught to suppress that wonder,to value
productivity over play,money over meaning.
So we stop dancing in the rain.We stop talking to trees.
We stop dreaming because dreams don't look good on a
résumé.
But here's the thing:growing up is not the goal.
The goal is to stay awake. To stay wild.To stay open.
To live each day with the same awe and curiosity we were born with.
Refusing to grow up isn't immaturity-
it's a radical act of remembering who you really are.
