Chaotic scenes unfolded outside Milimani Law Courts on Tuesday as police moved in to disperse a growing crowd that had gathered, partly in support of detained software developer Rose Njeri and for a separate, politically charged corruption case involving Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya.
Among those caught up in the commotion was popular activist Julius Kamau, who was briefly accosted by uniformed officers in what appeared to be an attempt to arrest or eject him from the scene.
Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the court premises, another man was roughly apprehended by plainclothes officers.
