A Nairobi court has released young Kenyan author Webster Elijah Ochora on a cash bail of Ksh 50,000 after he pleaded not guilty to charges of impersonating Charlene Ruto in connection with his recently published book "Beyond the Name: Charlene Ruto and the Youth Uprising".
Ochora had been arrested by DCI detectives and held at Muthaiga Police Station, with authorities accusing him of identity theft in violation of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act.
Forensic analysts had earlier seized his laptop in search of digital evidence.
The case has been set for mention on June 7.
