*Indications for Arterial Line (Art Line) Placement:*
1. *Continuous Blood Pressure Monitoring*
- In critically ill or unstable patients (e.g., shock, sepsis, trauma).
2. *Frequent Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) Analysis*
- For patients with respiratory failure, ventilator support, or metabolic imbalance.
3. *Titration of Vasoactive Drugs*
- When using medications like norepinephrine, dopamine, etc., that require precise BP control.
4. *Major Surgeries*
- Especially in cardiac, vascular, neuro, or transplant surgeries needing real-time hemodynamic monitoring.
5. *Severe Hypertension or Hypotension*
- To closely monitor changes and response to treatment.
6. *Multisystem Organ Failure*
- For accurate BP and oxygenation status.
7. *Poor Peripheral Perfusion*
- Non-invasive BP cuffs may be inaccurate.
