*5-day Daily Devotional*
Favour begins with grace, but grows through faithfulness. It's not random—it follows biblical character. Seek God's favour through humility, righteousness, and obedience. Like Jesus, may we grow in wisdom, stature, and favour with God and man.
*Day 1: Growing in God's Favour*
Reading: Luke 2:52, Proverbs 3:3-4
Devotional: Jesus grew in wisdom, stature, and favour with God and man. This growth wasn't automatic - it was the result of intentional living. As we seek to grow in God's favour, we must cultivate wisdom through the fear of the Lord, develop godly character, and nurture relationships with both God and others. Reflect on areas where you need growth. How can you actively pursue wisdom today? In what ways can you demonstrate faithfulness in your relationships? Remember, favour is not just given, but earned through a life of obedience and integrity. Ask God to help you grow in ways that please Him and benefit others.
*Day 2: The Power of Humility*
Reading: James 4:6-10, 1 Peter 5:5-6
Devotional: God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less. It's recognising our dependence on God and our proper place in relation to Him and others. Consider areas in your life where pride might be hindering your relationship with God or others. How can you cultivate a more humble attitude today? Perhaps it's admitting a mistake, asking for help, or giving credit to others. Remember, humility positions us to receive God's grace and favour. Pray for God to reveal areas of pride in your life and for the strength to walk in humility.
*Day 3: Living Righteously in an Unrighteous World*
Reading: Genesis 6:5-9, 2 Peter 2:5
Devotional: Noah found favour with God in a world consumed by wickedness. He stood out because of his righteousness, blameless living, and faithful walk with God. In our increasingly secular world, standing for righteousness can feel isolating. Yet, like Noah, we're called to be "preachers of righteousness" through both our words and actions. Reflect on challenges you face in living righteously. How can you demonstrate God's standards in your workplace, family, or community? Ask God for the courage to stand firm in your convictions and for opportunities to influence others towards righteousness.
*Day 4: Embracing God's Calling with Humility*
Reading: Luke 1:26-38, 46-55
Devotional: Mary's response to God's calling exemplifies humility and obedience. Despite the enormity of being chosen as the mother of the Messiah, she humbly submitted to God's will. Her Magnificat reveals a heart that recognized God's favor and responded with praise. Consider how you respond to God's calling in your life. Are there areas where you're resisting out of fear or pride? How can you cultivate Mary's attitude of humble obedience? Pray for the grace to say "yes" to God's plans, even when they seem daunting or unclear.
*Day 5: Stewarding God's Grace and Favour*
Reading: Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 2:11-14
Devotional: While we're saved by grace through faith, we're also created for good works. God's favour isn't meant to make us complacent, but to empower us for righteous living and service. Grace teaches us to say "no" to ungodliness and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives. Reflect on how you're stewarding God's grace in your life. Are you using your gifts and opportunities to serve others and glorify God? How can you be more intentional about living out your faith today? Ask God to help you recognise His favour in your life and to use it for His purposes.
