Our visit to Kuala Lumpur began with a productive meeting with Shri B.N. Reddy, The High Commissioner of India to Malaysia. His insights into India–Malaysia relations and the evolving regional dynamics provided valuable context for our diplomatic engagements. We then paid a solemn tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at the Indian Cultural Centre in Brickfields. Honouring one of the foremost icons of India’s freedom struggle was a deeply meaningful moment. I was also privileged to meet Mr S.P. Narayanasamy, a veteran of the Indian National Army and former member of the Balak Sena. His resilience and steadfast spirit continue to reflect Netaji’s enduring ideals. Our interaction with the Indian diaspora in Malaysia was equally enriching. I conveyed my heartfelt appreciation for their contributions in upholding the values of democracy, diversity, and unity, and for strengthening India’s image globally. Later, we visited the Torana Gate, an emblem of India–Malaysia friendship. Inspired by Hindu and Buddhist architectural traditions, it stands as a testament to our shared civilisational legacy and cultural diplomacy. We also engaged in a constructive dialogue with representatives of leading Malaysian media houses and social media influencers, briefing them on the purpose of our visit, key meetings with Malaysian interlocutors, and India’s unyielding commitment to its zero-tolerance policy against terrorism. To conclude the day, I had the honour of visiting the Ramakrishna Mission in Petaling Jaya, a historic institution established as a tribute to Shri Ramakrishna Paramahansa, Maa Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda’s ideals. The Ashrama continues to serve as a beacon of education, spiritual growth, and community service. It was a moment of immense pride to witness how the vision of Bengal’s greatest leaders continues to resonate across borders, shaping values and inspiring lives to this day.
