*His Phone Rang in Church by Accident* His phone rang in church by accident during prayers. The priest scolded him. The worshippers admonished him after prayer for interrupting the silence. His wife kept on lecturing him on his carelessness till they reached home. You could see the shame, embarrassment, and humiliation on his face. He has never stepped foot in the church ever again. That evening, he went to a bar. He was still nervous and trembling. He spilt his drink on the table by accident. The waiter apologized and gave him a napkin to clean himself up. The janitor also mopped the floor. The female manager offered him a complimentary drink. She also gave him a huge hug while saying, “Don’t worry, man. Who doesn’t make a mistake?” He has never stopped going to that bar since then. *Lesson:* You can make a difference by how you treat people—especially when they make mistakes. Let this be a reminder that harsh judgment can drive people away from us and the Church. When we respond with condemnation instead of compassion, we risk pushing hurting hearts into the arms of the world, instead of the embrace of Christ. Let us remember how Jesus treated those who stumbled—not with shame, but with love and restoration. “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” — Matthew 7:1 “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.” — John 8:7 “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” — 1 Peter 4:8 As Christ-followers, we are called not to shame the broken, but to help them heal. Let love, not judgment, define our faith.
