#updates The UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced the return of the Midday Break, effective from June 15 to September 15, 2025. During this period, outdoor work under direct sunlight will be prohibited from 12:30pm to 3:00pm daily to protect workers from heat-related illnesses. Now in its 21st year, the rule reflects the country’s commitment to occupational safety and sustainability. Companies that violate the regulation may face fines of up to Dh50,000 for repeated breaches. MoHRE will continue field inspections and awareness campaigns at worksites to ensure full compliance and safeguard labour rights.
