🌞 *Yaksha, the Sun & a Rainy Monday Morning* 🌧️ What makes GenAI tools like ChatGPT so fascinating to us? Perhaps, it’s because they remind us of the ancient Gurus — always ready with an answer. After all, most of the great spiritual teachings across civilizations came in the form of dialogues — Socrates and Plato in the West, and in the East, the Upanishadic conversations between Janaka and Ashtavakra, or Yama and Nachiketa. One such remarkable exchange, often overshadowed by the Gita’s battlefield wisdom, is the *dialogue between Yudhishthir and a Yaksha,* on the banks of a mysterious lake in the Mahabharata. Yudhishthir’s brothers have all fallen lifeless, punished for drinking water without answering the questions of an invisible voice — the Yaksha, later revealed to be Dharma himself. And what does the Yaksha ask first? 1. *What makes the sun rise?* 2. *Who are the sun’s constant companions?* 3. *What makes the sun set?* 4. *Where is the sun anchored?* It’s poetic. It’s scientific. It’s spiritual. The seers knew — *the Sun is the source of all energy,* and everything starts with light. --- *Cut to a Gloomy Monday Morning* ... I boarded an auto, bracing for Mumbai’s infamous pothole rodeo. The sky was dark. The rain threatened like a silent ambush. As we rolled down the Eastern Express Highway, it felt like we were driving into a deeper, darker monsoon painting. I remembered that fatal day — 26th July, 2005, when the city drowned. But today, thanks to the brave auto driver and the flapping plastic curtains, both of us arrived dry. I wished him well, and headed in. At work, while discussing the weather, my boss shared something striking — > “For three years in London, I never saw the morning sun. Every day began just like this.” And suddenly, it hit me. We take the Sun for granted. Just like we do with so many things in life. --- As Mumbai prepares for an early monsoon, let’s remember to value those we overlook. In nature, it's the *Sun* . At work, it's *our colleagues.* At home, it's *our parents, our spouses, those who silently support us.* 🌞 Don’t wait for darkness to realise who your sources of light are. Value them. While they still shine for you .
