The explosion, suspected to have been caused by dynamite, extensively damaged the facility. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The provincial veterinary officer, Dr Thokozani Mswela, confirmed the incident in a statement this morning. One security guard was on duty at the time, while the other was absent without official leave (AWOL). The motive of the attack is yet to be established. Meanwhile, police in Chinhoyi have confirmed responding to at least five robbery incidents in the town between last night and the early hours of this morning, suggesting a possible spike in coordinated criminal activities.
