In June, Saldapress will publish the fourth volume of Ultramega, a tokusatsu saga created by James Harren. In Ultramega, bodies transform, tear, explode. But behind the titanic fury of the kaiju and the colorful aesthetics full of body horror, James Harren builds a story about identity, pain, and the survival instinct. Ultramega is dynamic, full of monsters and action, focusing on the ambiguity of human nature: fragile, violent, capable of destroying but also of reconnecting. In the interview, conducted by Fabrizio Nocerino at Comicon Napoli 2025, the author talks a little about his work, his visual and narrative references and the sense of belonging to a humanity that searches for itself in the midst of destruction.
