The project is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). Speaking during the launch event, Deputy Minister Vangelis Haritatos said HEAP is poised to contribute significantly to national food security, nutrition improvement, and economic growth. โ€œThe Zimbabwe agriculture revolution train is in motion,โ€ Haritatos declared. โ€œWe are building Zimbabwe brick upon brick and stone upon stone, leaving no one and no place behind, and ensuring food sovereignty for all.โ€ HEAP will focus on improving market access, strengthening infrastructure, and boosting production capacity within the horticulture value chain. It is expected to bring modern tools, support systems, and new opportunities to rural communities, helping farmers compete in local and international markets. The project is also aligned with the government's broader goals under Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 1, which prioritize inclusive growth and agricultural modernization. -The Herald
