*Proposed New FUFA League Structure (Effective Next Season)* 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 FUFA has proposed a new league structure that will see the organization of football across six divisions nationwide: *1. 1st Division – Uganda Premier League (UPL)* *2. 2nd Division – FUFA Big League* *3. 3rd Division – Regional League (restructured and combined)* *4. 4th Division - Provincial League* *5. 5th Division – Zonal Mini League* *6. 6th Division – Community/Sub-county Level* *What’s Changing?* The UPL and FUFA Big League will remain as they are. The 3rd Division (Regional League) will now merge regions to create more competitive and structured leagues. For example, in the Eastern Region, the Bukedi and Nile groups will be combined into one 3rd Division League. The proposed structure includes at least 16 teams 8 from Nile group and 8 from Bukedi group. The remaining teams that don’t make it, will be relegated to their respective Provincial Leagues, such as *Busoga Province.* *What Does This Mean?* Teams will have to travel longer distances. A club based in Bwondha may now have to play an away match in Sironko a sign of the broader scope and demands of the new system. The competition will become more intense, and only well-prepared clubs will survive. Therefore to stay relevant and competitive, clubs must be ready financially, logistically, and mentally. *For the love of the game, we must adapt. It’s time to tighten our seat belts, improve club organization, embrace professionalism, and support our teams more than ever before.*
