🤝EMPOWERING LOCAL TRADERS Ekurhuleni proudly celebrated the empowerment of local street traders at a vibrant certificate and equipment handover ceremony this week. Through a partnership with Coca-Cola, the City has successfully equipped 1️⃣0️⃣4️⃣ street traders with vital business skills through its Enterprise Development Training Programme. Participants received comprehensive training in customer service, financial management, and business operations – empowering them to sustainably grow their businesses. To further support their journey, each of the 104 traders received branded equipment sponsored by Coca-Cola, including trolleys, umbrellas, and uniforms. These tools are designed to enhance both the professionalism and visibility of their businesses on the streets of Ekurhuleni. In addition to the training and equipment, the City awarded an additional 26 fruit and vegetable traders vouchers worth R10,000 each. These vouchers can be used to purchase stock at the Ekurhuleni market in Springs, providing a crucial boost for small scale entrepreneurs. Addressing the attendees, MMC for Development Planning and Real Estate, Ald Nomadlozi Nkosi, underscored the importance of adhering to the city’s by-laws. She encouraged all vendors to register their businesses at their nearest Customer Care Centre and to obtain the necessary permits to trade legally. #coeeconomicdevelopment
