*Pride Precedes a Fall*
_By Archbishop Charles Agyinasare_
_Day 139 (19/05/2025)_
_James 4:6 “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”_
The proud do not know they are proud and they hardly ever listen because they are deafened by their arrogance. They cannot see the truth even if there is clear evidence. They eventually end up in a predictable destination, a huge fall. Here are three dangers of being proud:
1. *Pride prepares you for shame.*
The most predictable thing on earth is “shame”, which comes after pride. When pride appears, shame accompanies it, but humility is present with wisdom. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 11:2 “When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.”
2. *With pride you can never win.*
With pride comes no victory. The Bible says in Psalm 149:4 (GNB), “The Lord takes pleasure in His people; He honours the humble with victory.” Do you want to be victorious? Walk in humility, for the LORD takes delight in the humble, and he crowns them with victory.
3. *Pride is an abomination to the Lord.*
Who wants to be an abomination to the Lord? Pride is an abomination to the Lord because the Bible tells us in Proverbs 16:5 that “Everyone that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.” Pride is something all Christians must stay away from. Precious one, stay humble today, and you will experience victories and divine elevation.
*Prayer:*
_Heavenly Father, wash out every particle of pride in me and help me stay humble in Jesus’ name Amen._
