*Your Day of Honour Will Come* *By Archbishop Charles Agyinasare* _Day 160 (09/06/2025)_ > _Genesis 41:40 (GNT) " I will put you in charge of my country, and all my people will obey your orders. Your authority will be second only to mine."_ From today’s reading, we see how Joseph’s honour broke forth after years of dishonour. To be honoured is to be granted a position of respect and authority. Sometimes, our effort goes unnoticed for a while till God comes through for us and our honour breaks forth. Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers out of jealousy. He became the supervisor in the house of Potiphar, Pharaoh's chief executioner. Setup by his master's wife, Joseph ended up in prison. As relentless as he was, he kept working hard even in prison until his day of glory. The word of God tried Joseph for years till he became second to Pharaoh. Here are three qualities we can learn from Joseph: 1. *Reflect the Lord's Presence.* Genesis 39:3 (AMPC) "And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all that he did to flourish and succeed in his hand." Though a slave, Joseph was successful because his life reflected the Lord’s presence. As believers, we must study, meditate and act on the Word in order to manifest His presence in our lives. When the Lord is with us, our life reflects godly virtues like wisdom, excellence etc. We are the light of the world; therefore, our conduct must reflect light to God’s glory. 2. *Avoid covetousness.* Genesis 39:9 (AMPC) "He is not greater in this house than I am; nor has he kept anything from me except you, for you are his wife. How then can I do this great evil and sin against God?" Today, many fall into sin by yielding to the spirit of covetousness. But Joseph avoided covetousness when his master's wife seduced him. We must exhibit the fear of the Lord in order to overcome covetousness and avoid yielding to the evil wishes of men. By this, we will remain on track to walk in God's plan for our lives. 3. *Keep working hard in diligence.* Genesis 39:22 (AMPC) "And the warden of the prison committed to Joseph’s care all the prisoners who were in the prison; and whatsoever was done there, he was in charge of it." Joseph had a track record of working hard. In Potiphar's house and in prison, he prospered because of the values of hard work and diligence. To become prosperous in life, we must work hard and diligently in our human capacity as we look to God to bless the work of our hands. _Precious one, your effort will meet opportunity one of these days. Reflect the Lord’s presence, avoid covetousness and work hard in diligence; in no time, your honour will break forth._ *Prayer:* _Heavenly Father, grant me the grace to work hard in diligence, and bless the work of my hands, in Jesus’ name. Amen._ *Cross References: * Psalm 105:19-22 Proverbs 2:1-7; 16-21 Acts 7:9-10 _Join my WhatsApp and Facebook broadcast channels for more insights and life-changing information:_ *WhatsApp:* https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaDR57i8F2p9KGQQdf1C *Facebook:* https://m.me/j/AbYGVDBGVG4mwk4K/
