It was an extra special summer party at the Firs on 30 May as we celebrated a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating. The local children’s home run by the council supports children with special needs. The Firs includes sensory rooms, personalised bedrooms and a specially designed garden that children love. Parents describe it as a second home for their children where children feel safe, happy and supported. At the summer party, the Mayor, Cllr Anjana Patel, Cllr Hitesh Karia, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services and Cllr Janet Mote joined the celebrations. They spent time speaking with parents, children and staff to learn about the vital support the home offers.
