Beatrice Gotsani (35) and Charity Matiza (42) are appearing in court this afternoon. The incident happened last Thursday at the school’s ECD centre. Circumstances are that Gotsani and Matiza used syringes to draw the blood from 19 pupils. The matter came to light after the pupils reported the matter to Francis Matutu, an employee at the school. *Gokwe woman jailed 2 years for drawing girl’s blood* GOKWE – A Gokwe woman who forcibly drained blood from a 10-year-old girl’s finger on Monday morning has been sentenced to two years in jail. Magistrate Honest Musiiwa sentenced Mavis Sibanda (33) today after convicting her of assault on her own plea. The incident happened on Monday around 10am at Sai Mart Supermarket in Gokwe CBD. Sibanda is a vendor and she had a stall near the supermarket. She asked the minor who was passing through the marketplace to come to her stall and the minor complied. Sibanda asked the minor to stretch out her right forefinger which she went on to grab, inserted a needle and drew out a blood sample that she put on a HIV test kit. The minor started crying whilst walking towards her home. She met two men whom she narrated her ordeal to. The men then phoned her father and escorted her back to Sibanda’s vending stall. The minor’s father phoned Police who attended the scene and arrested Sibanda. Tatenda Angela Mandishona prosecuted. Masvingo mirror
