Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem A Heartfelt Reminder for the First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah Alhamdulillah, we have entered the most sacred days of the year — the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. The Prophet Muhammad (salallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: > “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” (Bukhari) For those intending to offer a sacrifice (udhiyah), it is Sunnah not to cut the hair or nails from the beginning of these ten days until the animal is sacrificed. This is based on the hadith in Sahih Muslim: > “When the ten days begin and one of you intends to offer a sacrifice, let him not touch anything of his hair or nails until he has sacrificed.” Please note: this ruling applies only to the person making the sacrifice, not the entire household. If your husband is sacrificing on your behalf, you are not required to observe this restriction — unless you are offering your own sacrifice. Let us seize these days with prayer, fasting, charity, dhikr, and sincere repentance. May Allah accept from us all, elevate our ranks, and write us among those freed from the Fire. Wa Allahu A’lam. May peace and blessings be upon the Prophet Muhammad, his family, and companions.
