🔴MEC Mbalula Vows ‘No Safe Zone for Criminals’ as Free State Crime Stats Are Released🔴 Free State MEC for Community Safety, Roads and Transport, Jabu Mbalula, alongside Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS), Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane, delivered a powerful message during a media briefing in Bloemfontein on 10 June 2025. The event unveiled the crime statistics for the first quarter of the 2025/2026 financial year, covering April to June 2025. “Today we are gathered not merely to recite statistics, but to renew our commitment to making the Free State a place where every resident feels safe, protected, and respected,” Mbalula declared, vowing that criminals will find “no safe zone, no impunity, and no place to hide.” Highlighting reductions in murder, assault, and aggravated robbery, Mbalula emphasized intensified efforts to combat sexual violence, domestic abuse, and stock theft, while addressing the heartbreaking kidnapping of 19-year-old Kamogelo Baukudi.
