🔴Tzaneen Dam Wall Raising Project Set for Completion in March 2026, Boosting Water Security in Limpopo🔴 The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) has announced a revised completion date of March 2026 for the Tzaneen Dam Wall Raising project, part of the Groot Letaba River Water Augmentation Project (GLeWaP) in Limpopo. Initially slated for March 2025, the project, which resumed on 6 June 2023, is now 46% complete and will raise the dam wall by 3 metres to increase its storage capacity by 35.7 million cubic metres, reaching a total of 193 million cubic metres. This significant upgrade aims to meet the growing water demands of households, agriculture, and industry in the region for the next 20 years. Despite unforeseen challenges, the project has created 241 jobs, including 76 for women and 108 for youth, while delivering critical infrastructure improvements to enhance water security in Limpopo.
