The journey of #buybackafrica has been filled with experiences and lessons. Adhering to Shari'a-compliant business processes and engaging in ethical practices has strengthened my resolve, making me patient and selective about the businesses I choose to pursue. Currently, crude oil from Russia is being rebranded in Rotterdam and Dubai to be sold on the international market. Additionally, gold is being sold to purchase weapons and fund wars, taxes are not being paid, and people deceive one another daily in pursuit of short-term financial gain. While being different may sound appealing in a song or during conversations with friends and colleagues, it poses challenges in international trade as it can hinder quick establishment. However, adhering to a non-negotiable set of ethics brings not only peace of mind, calmness of heart, and sound sleep, but also attracts individuals who are not merely looking to benefit from the main attraction, but instead work together as a cohesive team. As we celebrate ^Eid al-Adha across this beautiful planet, it is a time to reflect on the sacrifices we, as individuals, have made for the greater good of society. Let us pray for the forgiveness and blessings of our Creator, and in our hearts, long for the implementation of our soft infrastructure that will eradicate poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa.
