*Impact is entirely different from influence though used interchangeably most times by many!* You can be influenced into anything and yet not be impacted by it. But, there is no way that you are impacted by someone or something and not get influenced along the line! In essence, influence is the process of persuading or affecting while, impact is the resultant change or the effect of the process of change. Should in case you are lost, it would be great to break it down further by siting an example: Here it is, A sitting Senator might be able to influence public opinion on a policy via speeches made (influence defined), but the real impact of that policy can only be recognised, seen and reflected on the people's lives that are changed (this is impact). Most times and even in history, it has been recorded that people who have the greatest impact are not necessarily the one's who are most influential.
