THE DUO SYSTEM 😫💔 Arise O' Ghana my motherland, Arise from the slumbers of sleep, And free yourself from the chains of madness that has held you captive for so long. Free your children from the bondage of the captivity of the mind, And teach us responsibility for our survival, Re-nurture us on the land that we birthed, Teach us the importance of integrity, And teach us how to till the land right so that the land will not turn its back on us, Bargain with the land on our behalf, That your generations will not suffer in poverty, Train our minds to be able to solve solutions for our motherland, So that we may be role models for other fatherlands and motherland in Africa, But if you don't arise O motherland of Ghana, Your children's faces will continue to be tear-streaked like a flowing stream, The future generations will suffer and enjoy poverty, Chaos and corruption will lead our motherland, Filling the pockets of those who sit on the throne of power, The land that we are birthed, Will turn its backs on us, Those who toiled for our independence spirit will groan from the land, Fear will rise, brothers and sisters will kill each other for survival, The system that promised equality has failed us, And we have failed the system, Arise O' my motherland of Ghana, Hear my plea and come to our rescue, Cos we are drowning in a land mine we never dug out. #may piece #6th piece of May #ghanaian poetry Book title: Echoes of change @Rammy_the_poet
