*Hon Mandiwanzira, Ecobank Zimbabwe transform Manjoro Primary School with 40-computer lab investment in alignment with Vision 2030*
*MANJORO PRIMARY SCHOOL NYANGA*—The Boys dzaMdara Manicaland outfit, led by Mr Trymore ‘Chimbongora’ Bhobho, descended on Ward 22 in Nyanga South (is Supa) Constituency yesterday where they officiated at a milestone event marking the official handover of a fully equipped state-of-the-art modern computer laboratory block at Manjoro Primary School.
The facility, which began as a modest school-driven initiative, was fully completed through a Public-Private Partnership model involving Ecobank Zimbabwe, the school and Hon Supa Collins Mandiwanzira—who is the long-serving and result-driven Legislator for the ruling Revolutionary ZANU PF in the Constituency. His role, as both a Member of Parliament and Politburo Member, serving as Secretary for Local Government, has consistently aligned with the education transformation Vision under President Dr ED Mnangagwa’s NDS1 — National Development Strategy 1.
Hon Supa Mandiwanzira said, “This project speaks directly to President Mnangagwa’s call for inclusive, modernized education infrastructure across all corners of our Great Republic. We are not just putting computers in classrooms; we are preparing our children for tomorrow’s jobs and ensuring Nyanga South contributes meaningfully to the Great Republic’s digital economy.”
Ecobank Zimbabwe contributed 20 computers and completed construction of a modern ICT block that includes a library, the head teacher’s office, plumbing, electricity tubing, tiling, ceiling installation, and a Starlink broadband internet connection.
Hon Mandiwanzira added, “With Heritage-Based Education 5.0 now central to our education reform, it’s vital that even the most remote schools have tools to nurture innovation, entrepreneurship, and practical knowledge. We are building not only infrastructure but the human capital necessary for the 2030 economic Vision.”
Ecobank Zimbabwe delegation head Mr Mike Dengwani described the project as a model for private sector participation in National development. “We believe financial institutions have a duty to walk alongside government in transforming the lives of ordinary Zimbabweans. Through such partnerships, we accelerate the goals of Vision 2030 by investing in education infrastructure that empowers young minds,” he said.
He added that the banking sector must not only lend but also lead development. “By plugging into digital learning projects, the banking sector reinforces President Mnangagwa’s economic recovery model and affirms that the Great Republic of Zimbabwe is open for business,” said Mr Dengwani.
“This computer lab is not just a building—it’s a doorway to the future for our learners. For a rural school like ours to now offer digital learning, thanks to Hon Mandiwanzira, Ecobank Zimbabwe, and the Boys dzaMdara team, is nothing short of transformational. Our pupils can now dream bigger, learn better, and compete with the best in the Great Republic of Zimbabwe and beyond,” said Headmistress Ms Mushonga.
To augment Ecobank's donation, Hon Mandiwanzira provided 20 additional laptops, raising the total number of computers at the school to 40—making Manjoro Primary School one of the most digitally equipped institutions in the Province of Manicaland.
Traditional leader Chief (Senator) James Kurauone Mutasa, who was amongst the special guests, said the transformation of rural schools reflects the visionary governance of President Mnangagwa. “What we are witnessing is a new season in the education of our children. The President is modernizing schools while preserving our cultural roots. This is what Heritage-Based Education 5.0 means: blending tradition with technology,” said the Chief.
He further remarked, “Under the Devolution mantra, no village is being forgotten. From these computer labs, our children will learn to innovate while staying grounded in the customs that define us. This is how we build a Nation that truly leaves no one and no place behind.”
National Chairperson of Boys dzaMdara, Mr Hopewell Chako, hailed the initiative as a clear reflection of their mandate. “Our mission is to defend, popularize and preserve the legacy of HE, President Dr ED Mnangagwa. Today’s investment in this lab ties directly into the broader drive for Heritage-Based Education 5.0, where we advance not only education but National values and innovation,” said Mr Chako.
He added that “As we prepare for the full realization of the 2030 Vision, we must ensure that education becomes both a tool for liberation and a source of economic development. That is the heritage-based mission of Boys dzaMdara.”
Boys dzaMdara Manicaland Chapter, under the leadership of Provincial Chair Mr Trymore ‘Chimbongora’ Bhobho, donated school stationery worth USD150. Mr Bhobho said their involvement goes beyond symbolic participation. “We are actively driving community-level development as an extension of our National mandate. Our job as a Chapter is to ensure that President Mnangagwa’s agenda is supported with tangible results on the ground,” he said.
He continued, “Administratively, we assess needs from the grassroots and channel them to the appropriate stakeholders. This project is a case study in provincial coordination, corporate partnership and patriotic delivery.”
Secretary-General for Boys dzaMdara Manicaland Chapter, Mr John Kanyikwanaka, described the handover as a moment of accountability and impact. “As an organisation rooted in President Mnangagwa’s Vision, our duty is to ensure that every dollar, every donation, every effort adds value to the communities we serve. That is why we are here today,” he said.
The day was graced by numerous local village heads, with Headman Mhembere accompanying the Chief, creating a culturally grounded environment for the modern ICT facility’s handover.
Hon Mandiwanzira, who also serves on the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Education, said, “This is not just development, it is alignment with NDS1 and the national digital economy agenda. We are bridging inequality by creating digital access even in the most rural corners of our Province.”
Mr Boris Mutupanyama, Special Advisor to the Boys dzaMdara Manicaland Province, said the day’s success proves the power of structured patriotic engagement. “As advisors, our role is to ensure provincial efforts are aligned with National targets and implemented with clarity. This is how patriotism is translated into measurable change,” he said.
Chief (Senator) James Kurauone Mutasa reminded the gathering that culture must remain central even as schools modernize. “Education 5.0 must be local before it is global. We cannot forget who we are. These labs must teach technology and heritage. That’s what will prepare our children to build this Great Republic as envisioned by the President.”
Boys dzaMdara National Chair Mr Chako concluded with a rallying call to the youth: “President Mnangagwa has lit the path to 2030. As defenders of his legacy, our job is to turn every school into a centre of production, innovation and National pride. That is the real Heritage-Based Education 5.0.”
Hon Mandiwanzira, in closing, said, “No constituency should be left behind. As a Member of Parliament and Politburo member, my promise is that Nyanga South will continue to be an example of results-driven leadership in support of the President’s vision.”
Mr Bhobho echoed that commitment from a Provincial perspective. “This is only the beginning. We are mapping more such projects across Manicaland. President Mnangagwa’s message is clear: work hard, serve faithfully, and deliver,” he said.
This partnership model has enabled Manjoro Primary School to tick off several key targets outlined in NDS1 and helped the school become a leading digital centre in rural education. The completed facility marks a transformative moment for students and educators alike as the Great Republic of Zimbabwe intensifies its drive toward Upper-Middle-Income-Status by 2030.
