MAN O’ WAR NIGERIA ENGAGES INEC ON COLLABORATION FOR CREDIBLE ELECTIONS In a strategic move aimed at strengthening civic participation and enhancing national development, the National Commander of Man O’ War Nigeria, NC Adedamola Gbenga, mipm, mss, msr, has paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja. The visit, which took place was centered on building a robust partnership between Man O’ War Nigeria and INEC, with a view to supporting the Commission in the successful execution of its national electoral mandate. The National Commander led a high-level delegation of the Man O’ War Nigeria National Command HQ. Speaking during the visit, NC Adedamola Gbenga stated that the organization, with its vast grassroots presence and trained personnel, is well-positioned to support INEC through non-partisan roles during elections, including public sensitization, voters' education, mobilization, logistics support, and voluntary peacekeeping assistance. According to the National Commander, the visit was part of Man O’ War Nigeria’s broader objective of contributing to national development through strategic collaboration with institutions that promote democracy, peace, and civic engagement. “We are committed to supporting the integrity and success of Nigeria’s electoral process,” he said. In response, Prof. Kunle Ajayi, the National INEC Commissioner representing the INEC Chairman, expressed appreciation for the visit and acknowledged the long-standing reputation of Man O’ War Nigeria in the areas of youth development, discipline, and community service. Prof. Ajayi described the visit as timely and promising, adding that INEC is open to working with credible organizations whose values align with the Commission’s vision for free, fair, and credible elections. He noted that once the required documentation and verification processes are concluded, INEC will formally explore avenues to engage Man O’ War Nigeria. The INEC Commissioner further noted that the Commission is especially pleased with Man O’ War Nigeria’s offer to support not only in security-related tasks but also in voter education, public enlightenment, sensitization campaigns, and media outreach, all of which are crucial to increasing voter participation and promoting peaceful electoral conduct. He emphasized the importance of such collaborations in achieving a credible electoral process, stating, “We welcome Man O’ War Nigeria into the electoral family, and we look forward to the impactful roles your personnel can play in our civic and democratic efforts.” Both parties agreed to continue the dialogue through formal channels, with the aim of finalizing a framework that will guide the partnership.
